Moog Protokraft Introduces Kestrel Series Link Extenders

Moog Protokraft, a divison of Moog Components Group has announced the availablitiy of it’s Kestrel Series series 4xSMPTE 424M or DVI fiber optic link extenders. These link extenders enable high speed video or display transmission over a link distance of up to 500m in harsh environments using MultiMode fiber optic cables. The MIL-DTL-38999, Series III shell provides a sealed optical interface that is water-tight to MIL-STD-810 / IP67 / NEMA-4x when mated. The optical fiber interface supports applications where copper cable link distance, bandwidth, weight or bulk make the use of twisted pair, twinax or quadrax copper conductors unacceptable. The Transmitter and Receiver units just need to be added with cable assemblies into the existing link.

Kestrel series SMPTE 4x424M or DVI fiber optic link extenders are shock, vibration and immersion resistant per MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-1344. Aluminum alloy enclosure and MIL-DTL-38999 shells are although small (100 x 56 x 50 mm) strong, durable, corrosion resistant and light weight. They can use standard military 28V vehicle power (acceptance 18-36V). They operate in temperatures from -40°C to +85°C.
